I got into the steering head to tension in again ,I changed the top and lower bearing about 3 months ago, they seem to have now settled in and needed to be retention or should that be toque back to spec lol. Anyway now feels great after a quick lap around a few blocks. (y):rolleyes::geek:

I am interested in seeing if you have played with tyre pressures to see if anything such as that makes a difference ? (y)
Yea, stuff I have noticed is pointier tires, lowering the front/raising the rear, softer rear suspension/harder front suspension, lower rear tire pressure/higher front tire pressure, heavier rear load/lighter front load, and a VARIETY of other factors (less rake angle, shorter trail, shorter wheelbase length, etc, etc, etc.) are all going to make a bike less stable at speed and take less steering effort to turn, and the opposite of these make a bike more stable but take more steering effort.

Biggest thing for me is I upped my front spring rate in my ES forks from ~1.2kg/mm to ~1.3kg/mm when I went through my front suspension trying to see if I could stop my front from bottoming out on threshold braking from highway speeds. Turns out I bottom out regardless and even with the stock 3rd gen rear shock on hard the bike is a bit unbalanced towards easier steering/instability for my needs, so I either need back off the front suspension or stiffen up the rear. Probably back off the front since I need to make some minor adjustments there anyway, and going a bit towards comfort/not bouncing when I hit bumps at high speeds would be nice.

A nice leisurely ride with BigOgre for lunch. Beautiful early autumn day here.

I had a great Saturday ride into our Hunter Valley via wine country also passing through coal mining areas before stopped at the truck drivers memorial on one of our popular bike riding roads called the Putty road then, I continued through cattle and thoroughbred horse breeding areas before stopping for bite to eat and coffee. Some riders there already enjoying a break gathered around my FJR and complimenting me, they could not believe that the inner fairing and the exhaust were so clean etc. That was a great complement lol.

We ate at Hendrix BBQ couple weekends ago after skydiving. Will try the Cafe next trip.
Across the street from the Sweet Meadow Cafe is Mambo Grill & Tapas. It's the only other place I've been to in Salisbury so far, highly recommend that one too.

Rufus the HD Guy rides by honking and laughing as I'm hacking down some tree limbs. We later met up (him with his girlfriend) for something to eat and a few hrs on central NC backroads.

Fjr properly in front
Not even for 1/2 the ride. He led most of the way. He's not one of the dawdling old fools, he can ride like normal folk. Curvy roads don't bother him a bit.

I got my can of brake cleaner out then not only cleaned the brakes. I went all out under the engine and triple tree from underneath the bike and cleaned everything that looked like it might have a bit of dirt or grease. The bike now looks like new from under the engine, subframe and swing arms all spotless. Amazing what a bit of OCD can do lol :rolleyes::geek: I won't mention boredom .:unsure::whistle:

The next squirrel you run over will really appreciate that. ;)

I was bored so ended up painting the callipers , rotors and wheels then cleaned under and above the triple tree. I was not fan of the Matt Black so today I changed it and redid the wheels, Callipers,Rotors in Gloss Black . I prefer the shiny look but I will leave the earlier photos as a comparison.

:rolleyes::unsure::geek:
