Hello,
I just picked up a 2004 FJR1300 with ABS last week.
I immediately threw on a new set of tires and a set of knock off Helibar risers
to help overcome the fact that I'm all of 5'5" with arms as short as T-Rex.>
Long story short ..... betcha didn't see that coming,
It ain't gonna be enough.
Maybe when I was younger, but I've lived hard and my neck & back are awful busted up.
The current risers are 1" up, and 1 & 3/4' back.
I've seen photos of folks doubling up their risers, but for some reason, that scares me.
I've also seen folks use those nifty bolt on triple tree plates and then add helibar type risers
on top of that. That seems a little better/safer in my opinion,
but I don't see those fancy plates manufactured for a 2004.
Any thoughts comments or advice that don't involve growing longer arms
would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
David
