Just use the heavy aluminum yamaha rack, the Givi Sr357 rack or the Shad tube rack (very similar to the Givi) it’ll provide better support. If you’re wanting to maintain the oe look use the yamaha rack, my .02.

The rack seems like a good choice but I already have a nice top box rack from PCA and don't want to change that if I can help it.

It replaces the colored factory hand hold/flat rack. Anything that mounts to the factory piece will mount to it. I have no idea how your PCA rack mounts.

Late reply, but is this the rear rack you're talking about? It doesn't have an option for my '08 FJR, would it still fit? The main reason for my purchase is not because of luggage capacity in my top case but rather for two-up riding. If it only helps with the luggage capacity then it may not be for me.
