Hi All

A couple of weeks ago I bought an Arai Corsair Collin Edwards replica helmet having almost always used Shoies. Much to my surprise
I found that its much noiser than the lids I've used up to now. Normally
I would spend around €400 on a helment, the Arai cost €700 and I really
expected it to be quieter than it is.
I've ordered a Laminer Lip to attach to the screen hoping that this will
help reduce the wind noise, this something I've wanted to do regardless
of helmet type. I've read elsewhere that something called a Vario screen
is available but I know little else beyond that.

Any comments would be appreciated.

I have had a Vario screen on my old XJ900 and on a CBR Super Blackbird.
The best investment I ever made on these two bikes.

Very well built and the quality is A1

The Arai are well documented to be noisy, however IMO they are the most comfortable helmet you can get. I just changed to a Schuberth & despite all the good reviews & the fact that it is very quiet, compared to my old Arai its a heap of poo. I'll be heading back to Arai shortly :|
Noise isnt really a problem if you are wearing ear plugs, like we all should be!!

If you wanted a quiet(er) helmet, you should have picked a different model. The Corsair has safety, comfort and ventilation as highlights and noise is less of a concern. That said, there are much noisier helmets.

Belive it or not my Caberg was quiter than my Arai. You would'nt think so with the lift up front un that.
Like said above, bloody comfy and light for sure. Without ear plugs they are a no , no.

Ditto to Alman : Caberg Justissimo (£149) is a superb helmet, even tried it chin down on the road, 10/10 for protection. Just not the quietest without ear plugs. Great flip face facilities tho, and even better open face ones...would not recommend that that tho !! I even bought another one after trashing the first.
