My battery is probably living on borrowed time. My 09 is still running the original battery. Yip, 11 years and still going. And it lives on a battery tender (Jr) at all times that I'm not riding. Go figure..

With that said, I'll probably Annie up and buy another factory recommended battery when it comes time.

Yeah... Texas and Batteries... 3 years max, usually...
Every three to four years for me with battery tender. Our long summers and traffic gives the radiator fans a work out too.
Low 70s in Ft Worth today, went for a ride looking for a Buc-ee with no ethanol 87 or 91.

I use a battery tender all the time too, but like clockwork whether it's a Yuasa or off-brand the battery goes every 3-4 years. As we Texans know, we are used to it. But if THAT's the only real issue you have in life, then just buy the dang battery and keep on riding!!!

The last battery I got was $45 from Amazonian and it's been just fine; I was not looking to pay for the Yuasa. It was the 14B-BS just so you know.

There's one on I35E in Denton that has premium - at a little over $3/gal. I realize that that is only a little more than $1/gallon over the "regular" stuff, but it does add up over the miles.

something to consider is going lithium for the weight savings - I understand the weight savings really affects the center of gravity on the bike.
I have a hard time believing that removing a few pounds mounted next to 6.6 gallons of fuel will have a noticeable affect.
I'm with dravnx on this. If we were really concerned about the CoG, I'd like to point out that most of us, me included, could afford to lose at least 20 pounds and most of that weight is carried really high. I mean, it's not like we are all on CBR600RRs.
