I had an '86 V65 Magna bought second hand in 1997 (? I think) with 3 K miles on it. I added about 70K miles onto it before I traded it in for the (then) all new 2003 FJR1300. I loved the sound and toque of that 1100cc V4. Never had any issues with it - I just wanted a more suitable bike for long distance rides with my wife as a pillion and luggage space. The FJR1300 fit that bill perfectly, and since last year I am riding a 2006 model which I bought with very low miles. It's a sickness but it beats hanging out in Girly bars.

Sell the Suzuki's before they cost you more then you can get. Buy something else Japanese. Profit.Got started late in life (early 30s).

And countless Yamaha atvs, dirt bikes, watercraft, snowmobiles, and even a guitar. 😄
Its hard to beat a Ninja 400 right now. Used price is surprisingly reasonable. Insurance price is good. Sporty performance with a billion replacement/aftermarket parts. Only drawback is if he is a taller chap.Okay
Pretty serious motorcycle ownership here
Question
Our son, 25 is thinking about his first real street bike. Rides a 125 Yamaha Vino to work, raced desert so has riding experience.
Budget under 5k
Local commuter bike SoCal
You might want to start a new thread asking for starter bike recommendations. I always suggest an SV650.Okay

I envy your CB 750. Such an iconic bike that is only just now starting to receive the attention it deserves.1 - 1966 Honda 305 Scrambler. (Bought in 1970, sold in 1972 when I was drafted into the army.)
2 - 1976 Honda CB 750. (Bought in 1977 and still have it.)
37 year break from riding 1984-2021.
3 - 2021 Yamaha FJR1300ES
I also have an early-70s Honda QA50 that is like new.
I’ve written up the various cars, bikes, cameras, tape machines, etc. that I’ve owned over the years. The CB750 story is here:I envy your CB 750. Such an iconic bike that is only just now starting to receive the attention it deserves.
That is AWESOME! What a great write-up. The theft kind of pisses me off but that's all part of living in California. Thanks for sharing!I’ve written up the various cars, bikes, cameras, tape machines, etc. that I’ve owned over the years. The CB750 story is here:
