What Did You Do To Your FJR Today?

I changed windscreens from a Cal Sci Sport tinted shorty to a Cee Bailey plus 2 tinted reverse flip.

Big difference in quality.

The Cal Sci had very rough edges, looked like it was cut with a hack saw and not finished or polished.
The Cee Bailey had a much better finish with the edges polished nicely.

Went for a ride today and I like it!!

Wind protection for me is better than the Cal Sci especially with the screen up all the way.

Finally picked her up from winter storage at my brother in law's. Latest ever due to medical issues. Still waiting on more info from my biopsy. Now the winter maintenance begins. ;)

Got in a 167 mile RTE meetup w/my brother today. He (& his '16 FJR1300ES) lives on the west coast of FL, me on the east, so we meetup in the middle, around Sebring.

Sebring is a pretty small town in the middle of nowhere, w/limited choices of decent restaurants. If it wasn't for the racetrack, the town likely wouldn't exist.

Anyway, we landed at the same diner from a few meet-ups ago but boy, has it taken a dive since we last visited. The table was held together w/duct tape- no kidding. And mold-filled ceiling lights- eyuck. Then, even tho it was 1035a, we could only order off the bfast menu, even tho the lunch menu was starting at 11a- oy vey. Lastly, my brother and I are both in our early 60s but we were the youngest patrons by likely 20 years or more- truly the land of the living dead, perhaps worse. Last time we go there.

I had beautiful weather riding over, light traffic, but it got warmer as the day passed. Even tho it was only late morning as I headed home, it started to heat up. (It is FLA, after all.) And of course, because I'm me, 5 miles from home the heavens opened up and doused me. Soaked to the bone by the time I pulled into the garage. At least it cooled me off.

Any ride is better than no ride, right? And I cracked 14k on the odo too!

I hate trying to keep a black bike clean during the rainy season so I just don't ride then. Usually. And I hate for my bike to not be clean :ROFLMAO:
Today I switched my kickstand to the other side. I don’t even want my motorcycle leaning left anymore.

We love the Mt Gilead area. Check out Lefler's place for a lunch stop. The building has a lot of history, built around 1900.

We will Try and hit Morrow Mountain next trip out that way.

Vehicle Hood Automotive tire Car Tire

May not be November but it was high time I got rid of the old stinking pumpkins.
Took the advice from @jayvan post
Decided to so with the smoke version to gel with Slutty Sylvia's "Liquid Silver" dress. Absolutely love the delete but considering I really don't use my signals they are more for the aesthetic.

Went the way @jayvan went and mounted the relay on the windshield motor with a spare GoPro 3M sticky. Works perfect and looks mean.

I didn't like the way my mirrors looked so..........
I did straighten the mounts so they won't stick up like a set of rabbit ears, then........
I have seen bikes with dark stocks that are different than the bike main color, I had some Ford-dark shadow grey and thought what the heck!

Clockwise the first pic is the sun baked and dumped starting point.
2nd pick is masked and sanded, ready for primer.
3rd pic is finished and ready to mount back on the bike ( when I put the fairing back on).

Automotive lighting Hood Product Motor vehicle Bumper

The process was;
1 sand the crap out of it and mask the rubber and glass.
2 spray 2 coats of adhesion promoter.
3 prime and check for blemishes.
4 spray with Duplicolor dark shadow gray
5 2 coats of Rustolem automotive clear, let dry.
6 wet sand clear with 1000 and wash
7 spray 2 more coats of clear.
8 remove all the masking and get it ready to reinstall.

I am not one who is very good with mix and match/contrast colors, but I think this will look ok. What do you guys think about these 2 colors together? I am an old fart and have been called alot of things, so your opinions won't offend me!

Thanks, Jim

For folks who do use them, I recommend the proton signals. Insanely bright. Had them on my fz1

My reply: I like it! However, this is certainly one of those cases of what we like to call: a GREY area!

Took it for a spirited tap room ride with my wife.
Mental note. The Ducati is beautiful and sort of quick. But the fjr has a lot more power and torque, and will wheelie in a corner where the duc does not. I apologized to my wife when we got home ;)

Kind of a spur of the moment decision on the way to a Concours car show but it appeared off in the distance that show was going to be rained out from a passing thunderstorm as the weather app hinted at. So instead joined up with a 30-mile massive group ride
