What Did You Do To Your FJR Today?

I changed windscreens from a Cal Sci Sport tinted shorty to a Cee Bailey plus 2 tinted reverse flip.

Big difference in quality.

The Cal Sci had very rough edges, looked like it was cut with a hack saw and not finished or polished.
The Cee Bailey had a much better finish with the edges polished nicely.

Went for a ride today and I like it!!

Wind protection for me is better than the Cal Sci especially with the screen up all the way.

That depends somewhat on which brand/model of tire you want. I ordered 7 tires last night after doing a couple days of research. (I own too many bikes!) I bought two off Amazon, and the rest from Revzilla. Revzilla was generally the best of the several vendors I compared prices with.

Dibs!!! Ya bastage!
Going digging today...... when I find it, I'll put some boogers on it. PM me your addy so I know where to find you.
Today I installed an R1 shift lever. Yay! Indeed it does shift quicker now.
Hey, Rick, can you remind me of the proper part number for the R1 lever.... thanks.

Yeah buddy. I used part number 10-5JJ-18112-10-00, for my gen 2, but I assume it’s compatible with gen 3, too? I dunno.

Have you got another FJR up your sleeve?

Yes compatable with all Gens... no new FJR's but my former '14 visits me occasionally for service.

FWIW, direct link to the part @ PartZilla:

Yamaha 5JJ-18112-10-00 - SHIFT ARM | Partzilla.com

At $60 + shipping it's not exactly a cheap upgrade, but maybe you can find a used one on eBay or a forum or something.

Yeah, I saw an old thread where somebody found one on eBay for under $20. There doesn’t seem to be any used ones there now, though.

$60 kinda seems a bit much for a small aluminum casting. But for what it does…seems a fair deal. And whenever I upgrade to a gen 3, I’ll see to it that it’ll transition over.

I also ordered other parts with it for free shipping.

Yeah if you want to go cheap. Check the application list on partzilla and then go to eBay and find something like this. 09-14 Yamaha R1 YZFR1 Shift Linkage Link Shifter 10 11 12 13 | eBay or 09-11 YAMAHA YZF R1 SHIFTER LINKAGE SHIFT LINK PEDAL | eBay
Which is likely the part.

Rode it for the first time since November. Clicked it over to an even 35,000 miles.

Fantastic. Does this mean the neighborhood is all thawed out now?

I joined a group ride down into the desert where it reached 102°, up through Julian and then the ride concluded at The Hideout.

Been a long not so nice spring.
I did spend 10 days in the Ozarks riding dirt.
So that kept me occupied.
First time out with it this year. Needed the big bags to pick up some parts from the Lexus dealer. Only about 25 miles total.

Gave it a long overdue bath (amazing how many bees were in my rad guard) and then showed it the new tire it'll be getting soon.

Oh and the dog got a little too curious so he got a bath also.
