Hello All,

New to the group and thinking about purchasing an 05 with low miles.

What (if any) are the diferances between an 05 and 06?

Height: I am 6'5" and am concerned about leg/knee room. Any tall guys out there have any coments on this (I have been unable to find a FJR to mount at a dealer as they are "order only")

My thoughts on buying an 05 is purely financial. Looks to be much less expensive getting the 05 instead of NEW.

Any and all coments are appreciated.

If you go to the Yam web site, it clearly states the revisions for 2006. We can only assume that the adjustable side fairing panels will actually work and take the excess heat away. Not everyone is affected/bothered by the heat.

The additional vents in the cockpit are likely to help cool the rider.

The revised throttle return spring is likely to help avoid tingling fingers.

The revised windscreen is likely to suit many riders (if Yam have done their R&D correctly)

ABS as standard - plus linked braking system.

12v socket in the glove box - handy for charging the phone at least.

These are just a few key points, check out their site on this link:

John,

Having sat on the 06 at the Bike Show, the ergos seemed to be identical in terms of reach to bars and foot pegs.

For me: Wrong direction of '06.
Higher final drive ratio, lower numerical
I HOPE they got the linked brakes correct.
45lbs higher weight

John, I would wait for the first ride reviews before you jump. The '05 could be in SUDDEN demand.
