Buying FJR , maybe, evaluating

Should I buy the AEY or not, rode a 13 without. Looking at 09 AEay, a dealer told me no one likes the paddle shift, too much like an automatic and difficult resell. It's true? Or what?
Direct me to correct forum if this bell has been rung, thx
Jim

Hello from Northern Virginia

Hi everyone. I picked up my '13 last week and have been loving every minute of it.

I'm coming from a '95 Honda Nighthawk 750 (still in the garage).

Welcome in Ray.

Jim, take a test ride & see what you think. AS uses appear to luv them. I've not ridden one but quite fancy the idea. You don't see many AS's don't appear for re-sale often so I guess the owners hang on to them, vote of confidence I 'd say.

I am also new to this forum. Picked up a 2013 at the end of September. Recently did the 600 mile service, installed the MV riser and TRex sliders. The bike is incredibly smooth especially after 11 years on a Sporty;)

Hello all,

My name is Ivan and I'm originally from North West Lower Michigan, and now reside in Florida. I just bought my first motorcycle! A 2006 FJR in amazingly great shape. I know this is a lot of bike for a new rider, and I keep this in mind at all times. I grew up riding in the dirt and I'm finding life on a street bike to be a great deal of fun. I'm very fortunate as I ended up with the exact motorcycle I wanted. Even the color, (Blue) was what I had in mind. The site looks great , and I'm already learning a great deal. Thanks,

Ivan.......

New FJR OWNER

I just purchased a 2013 FJR today and pick it up tomorrow...Merry Christmas to me!
20 years of riding off and on and coming off (literally) a 2011 BMW R1200RT. Considered the FJR for a while, but didn't think it quite fit me or that I was ready for it until now and with the 2013 model and later changes.
Super excited....

Hi folk,
Just got myself an 07 after selling a CBF1000. Stoked about owning this and my 1st ride awaits till all the snow is gone.
I'll add some farkles before the snow melts and she'll be ready to take me around the country come spring.

Cheers,

Welcome maggot... I predict that once atop your new FJR, you shallst morph into something that can actually "fly"... (insert bad joke drum roll here.. ba dump bump tssssshhhh!!!)

New forum member

Hi, everyone.

New FJR forum member... I made the decision to change my 2011 CanAm Spyder R/T for a 2014 FJR ES. The decision is partly based on reading threads on various forums, like this one.

I grew up riding dirt bikes until I was in my early twenties. Stopped riding for a long while, until I bought the Spyder. It brought me back on the road and I really had a great time with it, but having a motorcycle background, it is still missing something... Not much, but still...

I went through the classic R1200RT-Triumph Trophy-Concours dilema and settled for the FJR at the last Motorcycle show.

I am located near Montreal, Canada and therefore need to wait for the snow to melt before I pull the Spyder out of storage and put it up for sale. So a few more weeks of patience before I can really start shopping.

This looks like a fairly busy forum, so I hope I will learn as much about the FJR as I did about the Spyder in a similar forum. You will see me asking questions soon.

...Ben...

Welcome in Ben. Enjoy the new ride. Post pics once you've thawed out.

new guy with an '05

Just bought myself an '05 for 7k, already loaded with goodies ... three heaters, gps, handlebar risers, forward foot pegs, a rear rack, soft saddle bags and a tank bag. This is my first bike purchase and will be replacing my Avalanche and commuting 400+ miles a week.

Still need to get my endorsement, gear and a trailer, hitch, frame sliders and a gun mount built.

Dropped off a bike yesterday for service. Just for fun, took out a 2014 FJR and knew within 5 miles I was going to buy it...and did.

Last true sport touring bikes I had were BMW K bikes. Got very wrapped up with GS's about 10 years ago and had not had an ST in that time.

What a terrific bike! So many features that come standard.

Doing a week long trip to Nova Scotia later this year. Was going to take the GS, but will now likely take the FJR.

:)

I took delivery of a 2014 ES last week. In my long career it is the first Yamaha I have ever owned and the looks to be the best.

I'm lost on this ride trying to figure out where stuff is. I looked for the battery for 30 min. It is a lot different than the Honda or BMW.

My stable currently is a 2005 RT, and a Honda St 1300. I enjoy all 3 bikes.

I am also a member of the ST Owners forum and the BMW. I am most active on the ST site.

You shan't touch it. Don't even THINK about finding it. It's not for mere mortals to touch.
