Long story short, my fork is jammed up solid and I'm certain I'll end up destroying the lower while trying to remove the upper.
I have the scenario where it jammed trying to pull apart and never unjammed after hammering the tube back into the lower to dislodge the bushings. Pretty sure I'm at the bottom of travel with everything jammed up solid. Being a machinist I made a cap that threads into the fork upper with an eyelet and was planning on using a winch and pulling between two trees. Just assumed this was going to destroy the lower. Seeing how difficult it is to find a fork lower, I figured i'd start the search now.It can happen, but......... Read this over...... you should not be destroying the lower.... this one had some minor damage, all salvageable.
