Don't think so, not on the 5 FJR's I have installed them on.

anybody have that special spanner for the steering head that I could borrow.
Seems my bearings have seen better days

The steering geometry doesn't change.
If you put a set of Taper beside a set of Normal head races the tapers are generally 2-3mm taller per set, so 4-6mm lost at the stem thread.
Any change at the steering head will alter the rake & trail.
I have tried F*G, SKF and they were both taller. If you have managed to find a set of tapers that's the same size as OEM height wise could you post the manufacturer as it should be useful information.

+1. None of the differences being pole vaulted over here either.Don't think so, not on the 5 FJR's I have installed them on.
