Ordered just a spring from Cogent rather than send the shock for service. Thanks for the advice.

Finally mounted up the Ohlins & today is the first ride. Will ride a particular route with about 5 miles of rough road which should give me an overall impression. Not set sag yet so I know that's important also.

fixed ohlins on my 2009 Gen2 today.
relatively on hard setting from previous owner.
gonna ride and see how it'll suit my riding

Should be a number stamped on the spring and you can decode it to see what spring rate it is... if it's close, you can play with the preload to get a good sag number.
Damping can be adjusted and you'll have to play with that over time.

I just picked up a penske shock and love it makes the whole bike better. So smooth. You cant go wrong and there available un like olins or wilber. Let us know what u get
