Looking for excellent condition complete Rt front fork assembly For 2014 Gen 3.
I'll take a guess that the compression valve on the bottom of your right fork got broken during disassembly/assembly, and you need a cartridge that is no longer available from Yamaha. Parts (cartridge OR compression valve) are pretty much unobtainium. Any used fork that is bent will also have a bent cartridge, but maybe just maybe the compression valve is OK and you can remove/replace just that. However, it may be just as expeditious and cost effective to get a complete set of Gen2 forks if you cannot find a Gen3A fork....... the difference being the Gen3 has valving in right side only, while the Gen2 has valving on both forks.
I believe one person has successfully welded the broken compression valve, but you'd be wise to get an opinion from someone experienced in welding aluminum and perhaps machining the valve to look like the original.
Having said all this, the valve doesn't have a lot of meat to it and can break. I USED TO USE an air impact to initially get the bottom bolt out of the forks, but now use a homemade cartridge holding tool....
FYI, if memory serves, no suspension shop has yet made replacement valving for Gen3, i.e., single valving for right side.
