Top case is a more useful backrest for passenger.

I have one of these that I would be willing to part ways with. The wife doesn’t ride so don’t need it. It came with the bike from the previous owner.
@joojava7 joined 6 hours ago and this is the only post. Hmmm… smells like spam. I also don’t want to take the effort unless someone legit wants pictures.

Blanket statement in which me and friend of mine will respectfully disagree. Both our wives prefer the P/L backrest as the support is in the lower back area and not mid to upper back as with a top case.

If you have a jacket with a proper back protector how could you tell? My wife is 5ft 2 and has no issue with the topcase, but she also has a real back protector, not the placebo foam that a lot of jackets come with.

EZ-PZ, as stated, the support is lower back and not middle. Same with my chair at work and the option of lower, middle or upper back support.
My wife also wears a true back protector under her jacket, not the foam insert thing. She also doesn't have any "issue" with the top case, just she prefers the lower back support of the P/L backrest.
When on longer trips and I have the V47 on the bike, we just deal with it. But if just on a day trip or running out to lunch or supper, the P/L in preferred.

Disagree, sir. My riding partner hates the top case, even w/the back rest pad, but loves the Garaud's and Pirate's Lair back rest. I like the top case for storage purposes but when she rides w/me, it comes off and the back rest goes on.
If we all had the same opinion, this would be the boringest ( is THAT a word ) country on the planet.

I'd recommend not using the pad as it can push the passenger forward. Let the soft armor in her riding jacket be her back pad.

Mine has the pad on it (KGR52), but the box is mounted (fore/aft) specifically to put it in the right place for her.

Never thought of that. Thanks for the idea.

I would be interested in it but since there is a 10 year gap (2003) I doubt it would work. Could custom fab something I guess but would probably need to beef up the back end.
The website states that it’s for years 2006+.
It was on my list to buy one when they came back in stock but my wife just told me she’s not riding with me anymore due to her back issues (had surgery last fall). So, I’ll spend that budgeted money on something else.
Howdy mates!! I haven't been in awhile, Just been busy.
I did get my tires mounted, and purchased one of these back rests.
Wife love it! I was actually impressed how nice these are. Yes, I know, kinda pricey.
But hey, this is what retirement is all about right?
Mounted up easily in no time.

Not trying to lowball any one selling new units, but I do have the Pirates Cove Backrest from my 2020 FJR that I am looking to sell. My wife and I got a Gold Wing this spring for longer trips. Won't be two up on the FJR any more.

Let me know if interested.

Must be true that they go fast because the website says they have already gone. They should raise the price even higher!
