Welcome Ben Don't know about the 06. My 05 is the most comfortable bike I have ever owned. And I have had Many in my 35 years of riding. Except for the pain in my cheeks from smiling to much. :crylarf:

Welcome, welcome, welcome... having just signed myself I am aware of how such a small thing can ease the process... I'm a waiter for a 06 FJR. It has only been a few weeks (just lucky I guess) but, the anticipation is killing me.

Enjoy, I've already gotten some very good info from the site.

Hi Ben and welcome. Good to have another Queenslander aboard, even if just a 'looker' at the moment.

Comfort is so subjective, that I don't really think you'll get an answer here that helps. What's great for me could be uncomfortable for the next guy. For me, the FJR is the most comfortable bike I have ever owned, and we do big days solo or 2-up (including to Melbourne). Have you ridden an '05 (or earlier)? and how was that for you?

Hello Ben, I just bought an 2005 FJR second hand and love it

Hello Ben ,
I have been riding a 2004 XJR1300s for last 2 yrs and now moved on to the 2005 FJR1300 with a set of Staintunes and cant believe the refinement compared to the primitive brutality of the XJR1300 which I happen to like very much as well.Wouldnt say no to having both parked in the garage but hey money is an object unfortunetly.
I live in Wollongong , NSW if ever you are passing through give me a call and we can meet up for a ride or u can stay over, I organise rides for Yamaha Tribe down this way, no I dont work for them , actually work for Boeing.
You will be well pleased with the amount of adjustments and comfort levels that can be attained with the FJR,they do tend to want to drop into the corners a bit more when ridden in a sporting way than the XJR but with a wheel base 140mm longer than the XJR no wonder, mind you long distance cruiseing is a much more pleasureable experience compared to the go hard wind blown attitude of the XJR1300, you will be pleased with your choice. 8)

Hi Ben

I think that there are a few 2nd hand bikes available if you look/wait. Team Moto Yamaha on the Gold Coast had one a week or two ago, and they have a new one on the floor that they will be wanting to ship out to make way for the new '06 (I know 'cause they are a 3 minute walk from my office).

Hello Ben try this one at Narellan, NSW 2567

Try this link to www.bikesales.com.au and see if you can do what I did , buy the interstate bike unregoed and reduce the price then shipit upto yourself useing bike specialist couriers for cash and then rerego it up there ,you will save a fortune , I am very happy with my '05 FJR , 5,200klms on it with Staintunes and top box with back rest, handler bar risers for $18,495 regoed and insured for $20,000 with Shannons;
http://www.bikesales.com.au/as/sear...7&previousResultPerPage=20&currentPage=1&x=65
Its only got 2,300klms on it and an ABS model with extras, make him an offer for 18,500 unregoed and u have a virtually brand new FJR with the lot, also checkout www.autotrader.com.au ,in the bike section, best of luck.
try Just Bikes and CycleTrader magazines as well. 8)

Ben,

Live a little mate!! Buy a brand spanker here is Brisbane....ride it away....decide you miss your ZRX....give ya ol'mate Moose a call.....I'll give you my 03 FJR ABS and $4000 bucks....and everyone is happy.
Ohh yeh....I realy love the goldy colour mate

On the serious side....
I know that Yamaha is trying to get rid of their old stock....pre-06 models for pretty good prices too. I was recently in Newcastle and they were selling an '05 model with ABS, 12 months rego...extended warranty...and a full tank of juice for $17500...better for cash he said. Might be the way to go? I like the 06 model....but I still love my 03.

What ever floats ya boat mate
