Forgot to post this last week. This is me doing The Dragon in a rainstorm in full rain gear(except booties once again. New rule ALWAYS BRING THE BOOTIES)😆. Hey, when you’re 40 minutes away and you rode 2+ hrs to get there…You don’t turn around! I think between Hurricane Ida and doing the Dragon in the rain, I’ve learned some sort of pilot wings, but for motorcyclists 😆

To be completely honest…their functionality is great. If i wasn’t such a diva that needed the bike to look “badass”, they’d be on there 😆

I don’t need two pics that are only ok for $12 a piece…I’ll pass😊. When there’s a really good one i usually buy it.

That site should be paying people for their riding. You didn't ask for them to take pics of you lol. I doubt people would pay me anything if I just showed up and remodeled their kitchen and bathroom without asking. What a racket.

Why do you need booties? Don't you have waterproof boots?

As for Tail of the Dragon...... Me. A week ago. And yes, I will buy some photos. I just haven't had the time to go through the websites of the three companies taking photos and pick out the one's I like yet.

And from 10 years ago. I may be getting older, but at least I am not getting too much slower!

Gettin’ low there buddy, well done. As for the booties i wear tactical boots which are nice and vented and water resistant. They are good for a quick shower, but if you’re caught in a storm or steady rain for hours, your feet are getting wet. It’s kind of a cost/ventilation/heat tradeoff in my case. I’m sure Klim or somebody else makes some that cost a fortune and are still good in 95 degree weather though.

EDIT: Also…. Curious what kind of rubber you running on there that’sgot you confident enough to max out the lean angles of the bike on the road? I’m aggressive but not that much usually😆
Be careful hanging off over the double yellow. Seen way too many run wide or cars hugging the line. And that's where you'll find the most debris on the road, on the line and on the outer edges.

Nothing will remind you quicker that you’re not on a racetrack than a big turbo diesel dually riding the line coming the other way. Happened to me a couple times…you pull your head back in fast😆

Open sight lines for the entire turn. No other traffic in sight. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been there.

Did you see my tire question?
That photographer was out there in the rain, too, so that you could prove how awesome you are. Buy a photo. ;)
But at least if you don't, you are advertising for them.
Did you see my tire question?
I did not. But to reply: nothing special. The first photos are on the OEM Bridgestone tires as the FJR was only a few days old with 1,000 miles on it. I usually don't like these tires, but I can't complain at all so far. Perhaps, it is later in their life that I don't like them. In the photos from 10 years ago I have no idea what I was running back then. Not Michelins. Perhaps Bridgestone, Dunlops, or Pirellis. Whatever sport-touring tire I was liking, or trying, at that time.

Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. Even if at a brisk pace, I am not always in a ricky-racer mood and getting off the seat. Truth be told, most of the time when passing the photographers at the dragon I don't get off the seat. I want to see what the FJR looks like leaned over! Sometimes it's been because of the big honking Yamaha tank bag that limits my body movement.

The FJR will do pretty damned good as long as the rider doesn't F*** it up! Either by poor riding skills, or poor equipment (tires).

The one time I road the dragon we hit a deluge a few miles from the lodge. Hung out inside waiting for it to stop and eventually had to go for it as it was winding down. First pass was wet with a light rain. By the time we made a second pass the roads were drying and we could have a little more fun but then it started raining before we finished. We also road literally the entire length of the Blue Ridge Parkway in the pouring rain that trip and my rain gear was garbage. Bought some real rain gear in Maggie Valley.

This other side of the double-yellow thing is why I have no interest for popular "enthusiast" roads. Seen too many YouDude videos of folks in the wrong lane on a blind curve. With rare exception, the cross-over videos that result in wrecks, don't get posted.
