I'm assuming these were all tapped the same. I want try to buy an aluminum ram ball as my rubber one is squished and my GPS is always slipping down. I can remove mine and see what thread it is, but I have it loctited in, I'd rather not if somebody knows what thread these came with.

Ordered mine from eBay right before my tour last year… here’s the link: (I assume you mean for the two side by side accessory holes on the MCL Sport Touring triple)EDIT: I see you meant the stem ball.....could still try this and see if you like it...mines great.

The MCL (and Helibars) are tapped 3/8"-16. You can't get this nut any more, so drill and tap the OEM and perhaps consider a nut on the hidden side.
Other sizes are available, just check out RAM's website.

I tried tapping the nut & it didnt work. Too thin. Did this instead. Cheap, easy, & solid. The replacement nut cost more.

I recently saw that ball mount on amazon, looks good, nice to know it fits!

I bought a 1/4-20 ball mount but decided against trying the thread my steering nut due to how thin the cap is.

Let usknow how much crud accumulates in that trough. I'd be tempted to drill out the cover plate to fit the ball mount.
