Howdy. Welcome to the forum.

By 2012, the last of the Series IIs, MamaYama had sorted out all of the fuel infection issues. The only real problem of all the Series IIs is the daisy chained ground problem. Search the forum archives for "FJR spider bite". It is a relatively (well, for certain values of "relative") problem to solve. And a certain amount of regular preventive maintenance will avoid the problem. Yamaha solved that with Series III in 2013 with a completely new wiring harness.

And that royal blue is gorgeous.

20,000 miles in 11 years? Yeah that guy was right to trade it in since he ignored it so much... 😁
Yeah, not sure how that happens. I've had mine for < 3 months, pretty much just a weekend warrior, and already up to 1,600 smiles.

Those 2012's are sweet in that Cobalt Blue (y)

Sometimes it's not for everybody. That's reality talking, not love based bias.

You won't have any problems keeping up with him. I say that because the GSXR is a fast motorcycle. My son has one and we ride together often. The FJR fits in anywhere. It's fast, it handles very well, it's sporty and very powerful for mountain riding. I've had others and came back home to the FJR.
