Current moto2 American racer Cameron Beaubier is returning to motoAmerica next year. WSBK American racer Garett Gerloff will be leaving his Yamaha team and riding for BMW next season. That disappoints me to a degree but that’s racing.

Wonder if Kelly stays with CB gone? Kelly dominated his class in Moto America but neither had very much success in Moto2. Wondering why.
Moto2 is very cutthroat. Also, the other riders have years of experience on those European tracks which is a huge advantage.
Engine configuration not so much. But any SBK rider moving to Moto2 has to radically change their riding style. Break the habit of point and shoot to much more corner speed.
The frame chassis on the Moto2 bikes are so much more stiff that a production based SBK. That makes the setup window wickedly more narrow.

Great point. I always thought Cameron should have gone to WSBK instead of Moto2.
