You're wearing a space suit on a motorcycle. Cagers already think you're nuts. Wandering around in tight shorts and riding boots won't hurt your image. I can say this because I'm 60 and don't care what others think; polite people won't mention it and others can f-off.
Recommend buying a shirt and helmet liner, too. I'm 6' 1" and my quarter zip is long enough to give "good coverage," over the shorts.
I found some stretch cargo shorts that I sometimes wear that are comfortable under riding gear. The brand is Free Soldier, but there are others that are similar.
