Well, OK. I guess we'll interpret that as no more FJR in the US? Very faint hope for 2026..... meanwhile, the FJR is long gone in the EU, but it is hanging on in Canada and Australia. Kinda strange because I doubt they sell 100 a year in Canada.... I'm going to keep an eye out for a 2025 and see what the actual build date is, in case they are leftovers (however I don't think that's legal).

Skooter, I can only suggest you use your 'merican dollars to buy one up here and import it when slightly used... you know, I'll "store" it for you and make sure it gets the proper XXXX mile service..... :devilish: C$ list is $21,600 plus 13% tax minus around 30-35% fer yer dollars. However, I'd wait until very late 2025 before pulling the trigger.

I offered that to a gent on a Suzuki DR650, when the list prices were the same on both sides of the border a coupla years ago.... never saw that before.

My same response from one of the other sandboxes:

My All-Knowing and Powerful crystal ball says that the FJR will be back in it's current form for 2026.

Support for my thesis:

1) In the only two markets that they have discontinued the FJR; Europe in 2020, and Japan in 2022, they made a big deal about it and it being the end of an era and sent it off with a bang - releasing the 'final edition' model black with the gold stripe and wheels. I can't see them not doing the same thing here for the North American market. This market was just too big and they sold too many to let it just fade away. And thus far their only history is to conclude production in a market with a big send off. It is logical they would do the same here.

2) Other than that little footnote in the press release, they made no major mention of it. And I still don't read that as being permanent. The wording can easily mean just for 2025.

3) They are still selling it in Canada and maybe Australia (Aussie website shows MY24 model). And perhaps other markets? I don't know. But since they are still producing it for 2025 in some markets, producing it again in 2026 is easy enough to do. Supply chains with all the major and 2nd and 3rd tier suppliers still continue for 2025.

4) If you were like me and have no life and spend needless hours perusing ads on Craigslist, FB Marketplace, and CycleTrader than you would know there are still a lot of unsold 2023 and 2024 FJRs out there. Considering the economics of that for Yamaha and their dealers it makes total sense that they would just skip a year of production. Let that unsold inventory meet the limited demand and get it sold and off the dealer's floor. Produce it again when there is no longer the glutt of inventory.

So I am fairly confident in my prediction that the FJR will be back for 2026. What will be interesting to see if it will be the announced 'Final Year' with a big send-off and the special Black and Gold edition.........

Just came from my local Yamaha / Kaw dealer. He said that Mother Yamaha told him he cannot order a 2025 FJR. That the FJR is now finished in the US market for 2025. Looks as if there will be no more new FJR's. So hang on to yours, it might be worth something in the future....... or maybe not. He did say that the new Kaw Versys 1100 SE will be available. Looks the same as the V1K but is bored / stroked just a bit more. Guess I will be keeping both of mine.

Canadian dollar very low compared to USD right now...... jes sayin'

Well one thing is pretty clear- the Mfr's seem to be decreasing engine sizes. Whether this is factory (build) economics or Euro emissions compliance... or just less money in Buyer's pockets..
Who's still making liter+ engines anymore? I guess you've still got the Gold Wing, right? Maybe the BMW six? It looks like KTM, with their 1290 series, is currently on the ropes, (my guess is they will go 100% Chinese soon).
Waaahh! I needs me my Big Bore motors!

I would love to have one of those Black and Gold special edition models...
I know where there's a low mileage (approx 4,500 miles) one for sale. I think he's asking $18,500CAD (about $13,250USD). It comes with T-Rex front and rear bars, a Fenda Extenda, and a Mag-Knight tank bra. The seller is not a member of this Forum. PM me if you're interested.

Haynes.

Truth is the black and gold does look good. But I've owned a couple of black bikes and they show every spec of dirt. They need a bath after every ride. I'm old and grumpy now so my OCD about keeping it clean has gone away.

My truck is black and I HATE it. I only bought it because it was the last 2018 near the end of that year available with the options I wanted, and I got $13k off.
Otherwise my last black vehicle was a 1990. After that one I said never again.
I'm way too lazy to own a black vehicle 😆

Yup black sucks. I just had my only black bike repainted to a different color ;)

The used and altered* R6 bikes have been well over MSRP for quite awhile and getting worse. The rare colors fetch way more.

* as a buyer, altered = abused (to me) keep y'er mitts off the exhaust, intake and anything else you want to ruin 😛
