In terms of insurance expenses, I recently discovered that I can insure all 3 bikes with progressive for less than I paid each at state farm

It must be Arizona. I've been with Progressive for over 20 years now. My moto insurance used to be pretty reasonable like some of you describe. Not so much anymore. I have not had a claim since 2015, clean record, and high credit score, own my own home........ blah, blah, blah. I pay about $600/yr to insure one moto with full coverage and low liability limits. More like $1,100/year when insuring three of them. WTF?

I pay $75/year with Progressive (liability only). Same rate for 12 years now...
I run 250/500k liability rather than MN minimums so that may be difference. Plus MN requires un/under insurance.

Scooter, not just Arizona but California as well. When I lived in Colorado my insurance was $256 / yr, full coverage with great limits. Now living in California and $480.00/yr , full coverage with lower limits. 10 year old bike, no accidents and 73 years old, and excellent credit score.
As you say, WTF!

I hadn't even considered full coverage on a motorcycle. To me insurance is for catastrophic situation like a house fire - a used FJR isn't worth much so I don't consider it catastrophic if it was lost. Same with cars - once they reach a certain value I typically drop full coverage

I was paying about 150 a bike a year just liability. Now I pay 150 a year for all 3
I have 250/500/100k coverage on all vehicles. FJR coverage is 175/yr (was 160) with SF who uses a 3rd party as they don't really want bikes.
BTW: SF getting really bad about pushing un/under-insured coverage on al vehicles & I found out why last month. If I add it to my cars, it's 20/mo/car extra BUT 220/mo for the bike. I have good health ins so don't need the extra coverage.

In MN the over/under is required by state.
