Hi guys and gals ~ I'm living in Sedona, AZ and today purchased a 2010 FJR 1300. Right now it's in California and will be shipped to me next week.

My last bike was a BMW R1200RT and it was a rocket.....I'm thinking this FJR will be sportier and more fun to drive.

First bike was in 1959 3 hp Briggs and Stratton mini bike with centrifugal clutch and no brakes....ridden all my life, 71 now.

I'll be searching for some upgrade ideas, riding, tech everything, I'm sure there's a wealth of knowledge here, don't know what I can contribute but here I am!

TIA

Welcome and good luck with it. I see it's got an RDL seat on it, nice.

Cali to Sedona? Heck get on a plane or a bus and ride that bad boy home! ;)

What's an RDL seats? Looks like a lazy boy...... I think I'll save my first ride going up Oak Creek Canyon to Flagstaff. I'd lose two days of work and a boring ride. $325 door to door.

You got a fair deal a superb machine. Russel Day Long seat, braided hoses, Darla fork lamps and reflective rear tape already included. Happy days coming your way :)
Are those lights on the forks Clearwater Darla's?! Russel Day Long....I had one before. They have both heated and no so heated right? Sale guy says risers and upgraded triple tree...may have upgraded head lights ?

Yeah buddy those are Clearwaters. Some of the RDL seats are heated. I see it has a throttle lock too. The headlights look stock to me. Can confirm aftermarket risers and triple tree.
Lots of expensive goodies I don't have to deal with....nice. Feeling better, figured if I shared what pictures the dealer had, those with a sharper eye than mine could verify or deny.

That bike easily has a thousand dollars worth of accessories if you were to buy them.

Welcome. You're going to enjoy the FJR. It is in a way similar to the RT but a lot more like a motorcycle should be. I have ridden both and FJR wins hands down.

Welcome
Looks like a good price for all the items you had gotten on it, and with the steel braided brake lines is a plus! 24K on a FJR is barely broken in, almost like new, and those pics look like it's new. Must have been a good owner that didn't ride too often and looks like it was maintained cosmetically. Very often these bike go way over 100k bullet-proof. Yours is a GEN 2, that matters for a grounding issue that possibly has been taken care of, not a recall, but an issue. FJR's are on GEN 3, some say 4, right now. GEN 3 occurred in 2013. This identification helps when buying aftermarket parts. Many, many parts are compatible between GEN 2 and 3.
Your gonna love her. She rides as a sport bike when above 5k rpm, and loves it! She acts like a tourer below 5k. Unlike the RT, keep her revs up and you'll have a smile ear to ear, and so will she.

Research on this forum, 'stiffy kit' or 'metal top mount accessory' to take care of a 'issue' if you are going to mount a rear top case. If you don't intend to, nevermind.
