Hello all, long time listener first time caller.

Recently picked up an absolute beauty of an FJR from a kind local gentleman who decided it was time to move on from the sport touring life. 2016, 38,000 miles, second gear recall performed (whew), and various desirable farkles.

Since I've had it I've put on the Hepco Becker topcase I had from my previous bike (FJ-09), Garauld highway pegs, Ram XL grip mount (infinitely better than the X grip POS), and mounted my Valentine 1 radar detector (powered through the glove box). Will be considering a RDL in the future to support my IBA ambitions!

Looks like a Sargent on there already... if not quite right (I'm not a fan), put an Airhawk on it and do your IBA stuff?

Yes, it did come with a Sargent as well as the stock seat. Sargent has been decent so far but gets firm after a few hours., not a lot of cushion to work with. I'll check out the airhawk, appreciate it!

Welcome! Beautiful bike and scenery. I recently purchased some Alaska Leather sheepskin buttpads from another member on this forum and I love them! Have yet to do a 500+ mile trip and like you, I want to get participate in an IBA Once I complete a longer ride I might have to upgrade to an RDL as well.

Congrats on that beauty of an FJR!!! Funny how things are. I've got perhaps 100k miles on a RAM X-Grip and find it more than adequate. A couple of years ago I did add a powered Quad Lock mount for when I travel/tour. You might want to add some tip-over protection and I would highly recommend 90 degree valve stems on your next tire change.

Welcome from Tampa Bay Area. I use a Corbin with an Airhawk for my 500 mile days. Works fine

Congrats on stepping up to FJR. Even at rest, if your bike tips over, you are looking at around $3000 for repairs. So you should seriously consider some combination of frame sliders, luggage guards, canyon cages etc... They don't cost a lot and could save you quite a bit.
