I bought my new Yamaha FRJ1300 2003 model from Bill at Woking Yamaha Centre about 2 1/2 years ago. I recently found the rear shock absorber was shot. I took it to Woking to check - and a new one would be more than £700 - and my bike is now out of warranty. On my behalf Bill contacted Yamaha as it is unusual for the shock to go at this age. Yamaha offered a new shock at no cost and I paid the labour to fit it (about £50). So I am happy with Woking Yamaha's help and Yamaha's extra service. Just thought I would share this happy story with club members.

Good grief, that was generous of them. How many miles did you put on it?
Ours was shagged in less than two years (about 20,000 miles) but didn't think it was worth bothering Yam over it as we got a Hagon shock instead (which has been on two bikes and is at 80,000 and counting)
