Picked up my 2006 last Saturday and still discovering new things...as this is my first FJR. I noticed the glovebox on the left side appeared to be stuck or inoperable, not sure how much force to apply on the button and / or if the glove box is sealed for shipping.

Can someone advise if their are any screws to remove or how much force is normal on the button to open the box.....didn't want to overdo the force!

Thanks!

Make sure the ignition is on and the bike is in neutral.
Bike does not need to be in neutral but key does need to be in the "on" position for it to open.

@ 20valves... So the restriction to have the bike in nuetral doesn't apply on the 2006 model?
yep, they changed it, they point it out on the website:

"Glove box can now be opened whenever the key is in the On position, and contains a 12V outlet for phones, GPS units, electric vests, etc. "

I went out and checked mine too just to be sure.
