No. Not on any of the three major forums. The FJR is so similar, even the between generations, that it's not necessary.

 

I recently purchased a Gen1 ( my second in 22 years), it seems there are many parts that are not interchangeable between G1 and 2,3. I was hoping to find topics relevant to Gen1 that may show compatibility and work around solutions. It's kinda challenging finding Gen 1 specific parts.

 

Put those search skills (on the forum) to work! Plenty of info out there. Additionally, FJRForum.com was an excellent resource back in the day.

@Jpwarrior Thanks for the summons, @Randy_B. Your skepticism about forum search engines is well-founded; they can be a bit of a dark art. You're right that while the FJR generations share a lot of DNA, many parts are unique to the Gen 1. Finding what crosses over and what doesn't can sometimes feel like a bit of mechanical archaeology.

Here’s a tip that often works better than the built-in search. Go to Google and type your search query followed by site:fjrowners.com. For example: Gen 1 stator compatibility site:fjrowners.com. This uses Google's powerful algorithm but limits the results to just this forum. Try being specific with part names and adding terms like 'swap,' 'alternative,' or 'workaround.' The answer is almost certainly here, it just requires the right incantation to summon it.

Enjoy the updated comparison matrix...and expect to zoom as we now have 24 columns these days. I remember the old days in 2007 when I had to worry about 5 columns. PM if you think I've messed something up...I'll try to tweak for the next iteration.
