Does anyone know the final drive ratios for the FJR and Super Tenere or where I can locate this info? Are 5 and 6 speed FJRs the same? The reason I’m asking is the idea of swapping final drives on a Super Tenere came up over the weekend. The S10 (Super Tenere) is a good bike but geared like a bulldozer. The engine has so much low end it could easily handle a higher gear ratio (lower number). Externally it measures up the same and the bolts are the same pattern so that’s a good start. Should be doable? Thanks

I don't know the ratios but I can tell you that the final drive ratio has changed over the years.

(in the U.S.)
'03 was the lowest.
'04 and '05 had a slight bump up
'06 went higher and has remained that way to the current model.

So yes, the 5 and 6 speed is the same, but only from 2006.

Redfish is correct in that the overall top gear ratios have changed over the years for the FJR.

But if the OP is asking about the actual ratio of the Final Drive unit at the rear wheel, that is same for all years of FJR:
9 teeth driving 33 (9/33) for a ratio of 3.666.
Regards,
Mr. BR
