I had the "Stem Stand" brand mirror mount for my Garmin V. It worked great for the lighter, smaller V. I bought a Garmin Street Pilot III and between increased size and the wiggly plastic Garmin base mount it shook all over when riding. My V Strom has a Touratech cross bar mount for the Street Pilot and it is very stable. I took an old mirror and cut the arm off just above the tightening nut and welded some 1/2 inch bar stock for the base of the Touratech mounting system. Wow, solid mount, does not hit the wind screen and I can see all my gauges. I run a Yamaha tank bag so I did not want a center stem system for visability and reaching the key. I could have put more of an angle down over the brake oil reserve but it is not bad viewing the GPS with a slight tilt.
