Living in a moderate climate I can ride during the winter if proactive. Except I've taken the battery out of the bike to connect it to a tender. Someone, and I think it was the mechanic who introduced me to the 2005 blue beauty, advised I connect some leads and extend them out of the plastic. That way I could charge without pulling the battery. Does anyone have comments about whether this is a good idea or not? Any solid state components that might not like this means of charging?

I don't think it does matter, but if torch was still around he would probably set me straight.
I used to start my FJR with the Battery Tender connected, but only when it was difficult to start after sitting for awhile. Only did it once or twice.

Install a power outlet. Much cleaner and easier to use.

Why is this thread in the playground?
