Bit o sabotage

So, this nut job at work caused an incident with me. Actually managed to get himself sent home. Before he left camp, he decided to go at my bike while I was still at work.

In the video, he did something to the front left and front right, something at right side near fuel tank and definitely cut my clutch. Thing is, I can't figure out the rest. I see no slices in brake cable. Perhaps he was tugging, trying to pull it out of the pressed clamp.

Tow truck is bringing to dealer. Should I just get them to replace the brake lines? He was doing something pretty hard. Still looked more like knife work than tugging.

I'll post a video if I ever get a copy.

That sucks! They only sent him home, I would press charges and insist he be arrested. You are fortunate that you have video, this should cost the scum bag some money.

It would probably help the dealer to be able to see the video. That way they can check everything in the area he did his monkey business.

He should have been escorted off of the property, but that's water under the bridge. People like that too often return with firearms. Stay safe from the nut jobs.

Sorry to hear you've run into a total douche of a human being.
That sounds very dangerous. He should be in jail. Please stay safe.

Yep, press charges and make him pay. He'll think twice about screwing with you again and being a repeat offender. If not you've sent the message that he's your daddy.

And carry your own firearm.
Looks like Canada, so yeah....

Ya, think he's getting assault and mischief. Plus the costs of fixing.

The funniest thing is, he got all done up in black, pretty sure he even had black gloves on. And it's a sunny day at 130 in afternoon. Dumbest ninja ever. Lol

Carrying a gun in Canada is only illegal if you get caught.

He came to work like that?
Ah... No. But he certainly seemed to have the gear for night shenanigans. Just chose to daylight in them. Then scanned through the security gate. The camp is like a jail. Two layers of fence, cameras everywhere...

So... Back to brake lines, change them? Can you actually put enough pressure to loosen the pressed clamp?

Answer : Yes, absolutely.

Just find a mechanic that will add the brake lines to the damage assessment for court/insurance.

I don’t think that I would be guessing on any possibilities. Have the bike thoroughly checked out in the areas he was around - your safety depends on it. Then take the bill for labor and any parts cost and press charges against him. With the video proof and work records of the incident you have I don’t think that any judge would give him a break.

Messing with the brakes should be a felony (if it isn't). You can die or be seriously injured.

Yep, for a while we had a guy that liked to “mess” with peoples bikes by maybe turning the kill switch’s off or pulling the wires off the clutch switch, simple things like that. Until one day I caught him messing with my old 76 g-wing, didn’t realize it at the time what he had done, got on it and started cranking, it would not start, kill switch, took a bit before I realized it as this bike always readily fires off.

So I catch a quick look of him looking around the corner of the building laughing at which time I realized the kill switch was off, switched it on but now it’s flooded so it needs more cranking. Anyway I catch him in work the next day, wouldn’t look at me and denied everything when I confronted him. So anyway, I’m one of the boss’s there and explained to him if it ever happens again to me or anyone else I would take him to personnel and have his job, he was still denying it all.

I also explained to him that if my battery died I would be expecting him to pay the $100+ for a new one. I also filed a report with the personnel dept on all this so there was a record of it, never had or heard of another incident. You might’ve guessed I have a zero tolerance of this kind of stuff and can be a total a-hole over it. No tolerance.
