ANYbody,

I am looking for some bar ends I saw on here yesterday that I thought
were the best I've seen.

They were either polished aluminum or chrome, but they were pretty
cool, and added to the character of the FJR (imho).

They were 15.5 oz., and I think someone had just recently started
carrying them as a retail product.

They have three inset lines running around the inside of the bar end next
to the grip and would really complement the sliders I plan to get.

I am also looking for a pic of a USA 2005 FJR with Metisse sliders on
it...looked AWESOME...I REALLY liked this stuff, but am having a hard
time finding it (shoulda bookmarked, I know).

Thanks for any help...

Jim

barend weights

Peirre; why did't you go with throttlemeister & get the throttlelock as well :? The pricing was about the same.

I'm all for heavier bar-end weights, but I wouldn't get a throttle-lock-style due to convenience. I use my throttle lock Soooooooo much, I couldn't imagine having to reach over with the other hand all the time. I have a Vista-Cruise and it is VERY simple one-handed operation. JMHO.

Duff, I disagree, maybe I've just got good finger co-ordination but I lock & unlock with my throttle hand only

Here's a photo of the 1st generation "Top Gun" Bars ends weights from FJRGoodies.com, which are also 15.5 oz.

They now sell 2nd-generation Top Gun end weights which have 2 grooves machined toward the outboard end of the weight, and look pretty trick.

Lots of bar end choices for the FJR nowadays.....

I will admit that I have never personally tried them. I'm just going off what I have read. I would say I have my throttle lock on way more than off... and it gets locked/released a LOT. Maybe someday I will catch someone with the bar-end style and give it a shot..

I don't have the Throttlemeister, but know enough about it to know I wouldn't want one. I have the Vista also, as well as an Audiovox Cruise, the best of both worlds. The T Meister ain't cheap either, and seems impractical compared to the ease of use the Vista provides at less than 1/5 the cost.

I never thought about having both a cruise control AND a throttle lock. Makes sense, the throttle lock is WAY convenient and I use it all the time, but I REALY wish I had a cruise when I get out on open road and just want to set it & forget it. Would be nice not to have to worry about speeding up/slowing down due to terrain. I know, I'm starting to look lazy!

Anyway, sorry to hi-jack the thread. Back to the bar-end issues! :p

My 98se Wing came with factory cruise control. I added a Vista Cruise for several reasons.

1. It's quick when you need to fling a booger
2. It's easy when you need to lift up your chin bar and spit
3. It can set higher than the max limit on the OEM CC
4. It's handy when you pass a cruiser on the left and want to wave with your right hand

THIS is one of 'em...

Guys,

I found it...there's also another polished aluminum slider that
has FJR 1300 embossed on it.

I can't find that one right now, but if you know where it is or can
link to it, please advise.

Here's the link to the weights I was originally looking for:
http://www.fjrowners.ws/discus/messages/27/41283.html?1126917046
(Scroll down a little to the 'rocketdoc' post to see the weights...I think
it's the sixth post down-these were done by someone named 'Jarmo'.)

(Thanks for your efforts one and all)

So...whaddya think?

Guys,

I found everything I was looking for, so if you were trying to help me
find stuff it isn't necessary anymore, but thank you for your efforts.

Warchild-Would you happen to have any pics of the 2nd-gen
FJRGoodies bar end weights?

I'm undecided as to whether use theirs or see if I can get some of
the Jarmo stuff. (I really like the Jarmo bar ends. (Yeah, I know,
it's polished, but I'll take the heat for what I personally like).

Thanks one and all...

Bar End Weights

Anybody know how I can get in touch with this Jarmo
person?

I haven't seen any posts since the forum changed.

I did a search here, but he doesn't show up anywhere.

Jarmo, are you here and do you have bar end weights?

Thanks again,

Jim
