Aux lights on R Gaza bars

Just completed my weekend project of installing crash bars and lights on the bike. Installed R Gaza Police model bars and some 40W 4,000 lumen lights. Wanted some extra visibility to traffic for daytime riding and placed them low and wide to make a larger light signature on the bike.

Utilized the FZ-1 Fuzeblock and Admore harness to provide a clean install and reduce attachments to the battery. Have the lights and heated seats hooked up to switched power. Admore harness meant no molesting the stock harness, simply plug and play to get a switched wire to the FZ-1. A bit pricey for the block but the ease of set up makes it worthwhile. Only issue I had was some corrosion on the stock engine mount bolts making them difficult to remove.

Good work! Looks nice. And thanks for posting links of what you used, others will find them particularly helpful. Did you add a dimmer for night time?

That looks nice. Thanks for sharing. Anything to know about how you routed your wiring between the lights and back to the Fuseblock?

I find I’m often looking for similar projects on the forum and I appreciate it when people put the links to products they used on the posting, glad I could pay it forward.

No dimmer on it for now, I don’t typically ride at night too much but I might look into installing one.

I used the Fuzeblock 5ft harness that they sell with the block and routed it down the right fairing and under the tank to the spot under the seat, where the block itself is. The right light’s wires also join into the harness on the way to the block.
I really like the 5ft harness they made, and it came with a 4ft braided shell to put the wires into for a clean routing.

That's nice Fuzeblock gives you a harness now. I don't recall getting that with mine. I also think it's well worth the time and effort to install one of those (whatever brand you fancy) as you're bound to tap into it again sometime for some other farkle. That's when you'll really appreciate it.
It was an additional $35 or something like that but I think it was money well spent. The ability to have switched power to multiple accessories is fantastic, I'll definitely be using the open spots I have on it with additional farkles sometime soon.

Admore makes good kit. Nice install. I too prefer not to puncture, cut, or otherwise molest original wiring harness when I can avoid it.

Glad to know about Admore's taillight adapters for FJR's. My usual go-to for plug-and-play electrical bits, Eastern Beaver, does not offer those.

I guess this was the weekend for installing aux lights on R-Gaza engine guards! I did the same thing on Saturday.

I used the clamps from the aux lights that I had removed from my '06 FJR before trading it in - one of the lights had failed so I figured it was better to trade it in with no aux lights than one working and one failed. Chances are the dealership would have removed them anyway.

This time I used the following LED lights: Chelhead Surface Mount Led Lights
They're rated IP68, so they should hold up...should. I modified a couple 4" L-brackets from Home Depot so I could mount them to the clamp and keep them between the engine guard and the bike.

I showed them to my wife and she thought they would blind oncoming drivers. The way they are mounted, it's pretty easy to rotate them downward as needed.

FL_FJR, thanks for sharing this. Looks like a killer install!

A couple of questions, if I may?

1) did you opt for the 30 or 60 degree beam for the lights?

2) the Admore harness gives you plug&play access to a switched wire for the FZ-1; do you know if using it for this purpose would preclude using another admore harness to power their top case light kit?

thanks again,
JAA

I put the 60 degree beam lights on to start but also just ordered 30 degree ones to compare. At $100 with shipping it’s not a bad deal in my book.

The tail light wire from the Admore harness is what I used for the switching wire. That leaves the turn signals, brake, and ground wires still open on the harness. I’m not sure how you’d get all the lights on a top case kit to work unless maybe you had the wire split to go to the Fuzeblock and the taillight at the same time.

Just put on the spots versus the fog beams and I like them a lot more. The fogs throw a very wide light that I thought would’ve been too blinding to oncoming drivers. I took a few pics briefly to illustrate the differences.
