Hi All,

Any suggestions on why my starter keeps firing(running) even when then bike has started up and is running. It is now running continuously even when key is out.

I have had to disconnect battery to stop it running.

Presuming its now stuck on.

Really dont want to have to take it out they're a bastard to get to.

Any thoughts

Cheers

Starter relay would be a good place to start.

Probably not so much the ignition switch but perhaps the starter button is stuck/jammed and making contact. Easy enough to spray some contact cleaner in the switch itself.

EDIT: Disregard. That shouldn't be it with the key out.

What is your bike, how many miles? Perhaps load that into your profile for future reference......
Yes, with ignition off, starter relay should not be energized..... it could be if your ignition switch is faulty....
Other possibility is the starter relay heavy circuit contacts are stuck..... it is fed directly from the battery + terminal and then the second cable goes directly to the starter. I'd start there.
