I am curious what others are seeing on the 2006 FJR1300 temperature gauge. The gauge has 10 "bars", and my 2006 runs at 4 bars during cruising and bounces between 5 and 7 during traffic. I saw 8 once when it was 92 F outside. Otherwise, it doesn't seem to matter much what the outside temp is (52 F to 92 F). I thought 7 or 8 seemed a bit high. What are you seeing?

At mine FJR ´06 temp gauge shows normally 3-4 bars. When cruising in town once it hit 8 bars and the fan went on.So sounds that at your bike is total normal...

4 bars while moving, 5-7 in traffic. Doesn't seem to matter what the ambient temperatire is - other than an occasional 3 bar while cruising on the highway in high 30 degree ambient temp.

Any idea what the fan thermostat set point is?
Don´t now about the 06, but this applies to the earlier versions;

Test step/ Coolant temp sensor/ Fan on

1 / Less than 100 C / NO
2 / More than 105 C / YES
3 / More than 100 C / YES
4 / Less than 100 C / NO

Test steps 1 & 2: Heating phase
Test steps 3 & 4: Cooling phase

The fan should engage when coolant temp is at 100 Celsius. The only expeption is when the engine is warming up (105 C).
