RaYzerman I may be wrong, but the FZ1 mirrors 2006 and later do not fold... you want the ones for 2001-2005. To me the Emgo equivalent is just as good and one heck of a lot cheaper. The last set I bought cost me under $40. Do a search on FleaBay......

Yeah. I looked just to be sure before answering, but here's the Partzilla page.

jimw Can someone tell me where to get the fz1 mirrors? I have a 2014 fjr & all the sites I looked at say there only for up to 2006 models. Thanks

passx I installed the FZ1 mirrors on my 2014 a couple of years ago after much time spent looking at my elbows and trying things to improve the rearward view I finally gave up & installed the fz1 mirrors.

They literally “bugged” me for quite a while giving my bike a very transformers/bug like look but time has improved that and I can actually see behind me. Downsides ? Other than the aforementioned look now with the fz1 mirrors you can no longer block the bright lights of the idiot (lots of them) behind you that can't seem to figure all that new fangled switchery out to turn the brights off.

Russ has mentioned that numerous times as a benefit to the stock mirrors that just moving your elbows out will block the idiot’s lights behind you with your stock mirrors, not so much so with the fz1’s.

Work great on my Gen I!

RaYzerman You have to get the right ones..... 2001-2005 FZ1, as they fold. My Emgos work fine... I did lube the pivots as they came dry, gave them a test fold.
I had the SW Motech extenders once upon a time, wouldn't go back.

passx My FZ1 Emgo mirrors do fold, but i’ll add that I spent some adjusting all the pivots so they neither folded to easily or too hard. I am happy with the results.

Do your Emgos fold in?

Now I've got a Gen III FJR, and even with the SW-Motech extenders I'm looking at my elbows, so it's time to look at FZ1 mirrors again. OEM costs $80 (EACH), so I'm really hoping for a less-expensive aftermarket mirror that works. Mostly, I just want one that folds in, in case the bike takes a nap. I've seen conflicting info on whether the EMGO mirrors fold in.
The extenders helped on my Gen III, but I still see my elbows. I can see a tailgater no matter where they are behind me in at least one mirror, though. I may not see the entire car, but I can see enough to know where they are. That'll work for me.

I'm a little embarrassed I went 6+ years without addressing the problem. I now wonder how long it'll take me to stop tucking an elbow when I use the mirrors
