Fjr216 Welcome! Lots of knowledgeable and friendly folks here. They were all super helpful in helping me decide to get my 2010A this April. I came off a 2006 Goldwing loosing 300+ pounds in the process. I have been smiling ever since. Heck, I walk past my FJR and just smile when I look at it. You're gonna love it. Safe riding and God bless.

Chizzo,

Welcome to the sandbox! Be among friends here.

No way would I trust the guy's memory, on tire age. Some sellers will sell very old stock,
maybe at some worthless discount. It's only a deal if the tires are good.

Here's how (click and scroll down) -

Hi and welcome to the family! I had an '05 from, well, '05 through '17 and then bought a '15 model. I think they are great motorcycles. Lots of knowledge here (none from me though!) so ask questions and we'll do our best to help.

Interestingly, I had the '00 Vulcan from Aug. '00 - June '05 when I switched to the FJR. The Vulcan ran like a top, I had the red/burgundy color combo.

Well, anyway, welcome and keep us posted!

chizzo Thanks SoCal. I knew I joined this forum for a reason. I sold my Vulcan today for $3000 to a friend. He offered me $3300 but I gave him a break. So I am going from a 1997 Vulcan 1500 with 27000 miles to a 2006 FJR1300AE with 23000 miles for the grand total of $300. I guess I made out alright on the deal. Let me see which smiley looks likes me right now.

There's a date stamped on the sidewall of ONE side of the tire.

It will look something like this "01213" that means it was made in the 12th week of 2013 so April of 2013.
