I received my $50 rebate CC from Michelin this w/e. I need to activate the card and use it before 4/30/20.
That made those PR4GT's worth it.

|Aroxx||This thread was very helpful for me, thanks for all of the info. I just burned through a set of Metzeler Z6s (front still has life, rear is toast) in about 5700 miles. Just got the FJR this year so it's my first set of tires. I ran the T30 and then T31 on my YZF600R previously and liked them but I keep seeing the PR4GT mentioned here. Thanks @N4HHE for your breakdown on expected mileage. I was going to try the PR4GT but might try the T31GT this time around to save $130 in the short term. Also I just missed that Michelin $50 rebate by about a week|

|RaYzerman||My typical Z6 front wears the same length as a PR4 rear, which was my fave combo, but PR4 prices are a tad high. If your Z6 isn't lasting, I'd say put some air in your front tire.|

Metzeler Z6 is inexpensive, rides good, but front lasts 3/4 that of a T30 or 2/3rds as long as a PR4GT, and rear wears even faster. Have plugged many tires but the rear Z6 was the first that felt like it tore when I pushed the plug through. Mounted a T31 when I got home.
Shinko 016 is easily the fastest wearing and worst riding tire I have used.
Using RockyMountainATVMC prices for comparison a set of PR4GT costs $350 and T31 GT costs $230.
Looking up specifics I got 8700 miles of my front PR4GT and 8000 out of T30 Evo GT. The PR4GT is $155 and T31 GT (guessing it will wear same as T30) is $105. Add $50 mounting and balancing (I do my own) the PR4GT front costs $23.56 and T31 GT $19.38 per 1,000 miles.
The rear PR4GT is $199 for which I got 11,000 miles. Rear T31 GT $124 (oddly cheaper than the not-GT) for which my T30 Evo GT got 7500 miles. Add $50 again for mounting and balancing the costs are $22.64 and $23.20 per 1,000. This time the PR4GT costs less per mile but not by much. I think 7500 miles is easier to get out of the T30 Evo GT than 11,000 out of PR4GT. Jury is still out on my new T31 GT. Probably a set of PR4GT will follow the T31's. But perhaps not if Bridgestone throws in another $60/set rebate again.

Dealer says email from distributor today says R5GT is shipping. I don't want an R5-anything but asked about PR4 and PR4GT. The PR4 is said to be available once again, and prices have been dropped a little for both PR4s, lower than when I bought my first set of PR4GT in 2016. R5GT is currently more expensive than PR4GT was in 2016.
So if there is any good news about R5 is that the PR4 is still available and at lower cost than pre-R5.

Revzilla is the one that told me that the Road 5 tires were rated for the FJR.
Thus my purchase of them.
