Sound good, I have to come up and do some work on Mom's house soon. Yep sorry I missed the ride it sounded like a good one to go on.

I tried the zip tie method on a ZRX front a few years back and failed miserably. Maybe you need to come up and show me how that works next time. You can overnight in the RV

jamwr I have 2640mi on the rear and 3000mi on the front of my Roadsmart IIIs. Installed on a 2006 FJR. I really like them for the confidence in turns and the mileage at this point "appears to be" about double what I was getting out of Q3s. I typically got 2800 to 3000 miles out of a rear Q3 before the cord was/is showing and 5000 to 6000miles out of a Q3 mounted in front. Air pressure is set to give about an 18-20% rise on the rear and 10% on the front after a "spirited" ride thru the twisties near home. (about 38 psi for me). The 2640mi on the rear is entirely from a Trip with my son to Yellowstone and Beartooth Pass.

budzrex Ordered another set last night, as i have a few trips coming up and the Dunlop rebate ends this month. I used the zip tie method to make mounting easy after the tire sat outside in the sun most of the day.

zip tie the tire so the beads touch and then is almost slides on with some lube cut the zip ties and they slide right out

Put the blocks on the bottom as well as the top. If you can get both beads in the center then you don't have to skew (as much) the top bead off center with respect to the bottom bead.

I've tried pinching the tire with c-clamps or woodworking clamps without success. Clamp comes off. But the bead breaking clamp doesn't have that problem.

On a really flimsy tire one could hold both beads together (all the way around) on the tire and it would pop on with no tools much like we can do the first side, usually.

The front went very easily. It was the rear that gave me fits. Never thought about lubing the center. I've got some short pieces of scrap 1 x 2 that I put around the bead to hold it off the rim. As I pull the Mojo lever around they pop out and go flying around the garage.

I've got 2 ounces on the rear and one on the front. It always takes a lot on mine. It even had 50 grams on the rear and 20 on the front brand new.

Thanks for the input. I'll give your suggestions some thought next time.

There is some sort of magic combination to get the last bit over the rim that I often miss if using levers it is too tight to get a lever in for that last bit. Mounted two sets for myself and 3 for a friend, can’t say I notice much difference with the rear RS3 but the front is akin to power steering. Much lighter than other tires. 36 psi is much like 42 psi in others. I prefer the tire to require a bit more effort to steer.
I've got 1000+ miles on the tires now in two days. And I've climbed some 5000 feet. There's no telling what kind of pressure's in them now.

I use an old Harbor Freight stand with a Mojo Lever and one Yellow Thing. I had trouble pushing the first side on. But I've got arthritis in my hands and a bum shoulder, so it was probably much harder for me than most. But I can push the T30 GTs on, and I couldn't the RS3. I finally resorted to a tire iron to work the first side on. With the Mojo lever I could pull it all the way around to get the second side on, but it required more effort.

I did not try heating the tire. I may try that next time.

Hmmm... I never considered using the bead breaker as an aid in mounting. Thanks.

Oh, BTW. More rain today. I hit some heavy rain for several miles today, and am still quite happy with the tires.
