FJR1300 (2002) atmospheric pressure sensor inoperative ?

Hi,

I could not find any old thread with same problem. Maybe I just can not use search properly... but anyway I realized fuel consumption increase on my 2002 FJR1300. Previously it was 5.5 liters/100km but now it is 7 liters/100km. My friend checked error codes and it showed #19 which should be atmospheric pressure sensro or air pressure sensor spare part is quite expensive and I dont want to buy it before Im sure that this sensor is not working. Engine starts propoerly and runs properly, maybe not so agile than before. Has anybody experiences with this sensor etc. Any help highly appreciated.

I'd reset the fault history and check again down the track.
Error code 19 is the side stand
Error code 14 is the air pressure sensor, can also run a diagnostic on the sensor.

How the sensor can be tested or checked ? All errors have been resetted but fuel consumption is still higher than previously. I will recheck if the error is back or not. Is there anything else that can cause higher fuel consumption ? (air filter, fuel filter etc ? ) what else I should check ? All sparkplugs I changed year ago.

Don't quote me, but I think it's a diagnostic code 3 to test the sensor, have to do a search for the expected results, can get back latter on today.

The sensor is up near the fuel rail, it's air tube can get pinched or perish.

Likewise the coolant temp sensor has a lot to do with the initial basemap for the FI.

Do you use ethanol fuel, the times I've had to use it the consumption drops quite a bit. Don't know where you live, but do you have summer / winter fuels ??

The Gen1 service manual gives a real good writeup on the FI System and how to check the various sensors.

Give the bike a good run, chuck in some injector cleaner and check the codes once more.

photo of atmospheric pressure sensor?

I just worked on the throttle cable under the gas tank and it increases idle up at elevation and comes back down to 1100 rpm at low altitude. I may have messed with it accidentally.
