Aux Power Socket Access

Hi Guys

I want to make a connection to the wiring on the rear of the power socket in the little glove box on a 2007 model.

I don't necessarily want to remove the glove box just access the wiring.

I'd really appreciate a point in the right direction.

Cheers.

You need to make your approach from below. Remove the right hand, inside fairing panel, which is located in front of the radiator, and above the front wheel. With that removed, you should be able to look up with a torch and see the back of the power socket. It has a short pig tail cable with an inline connector. Disconnect that connector and you may then have enough length of cable to work with on the supply side, but I think you will need hands like a monkey to do it. Good luck.

Have a look at this thread for pictures. https://www.fjrowners.com/forums/11-f...good-idea.html

There are many other options for tapping into a switched power source without removing tupperware. What are you wanting to do so maybe we can help with a better solution?

I think I read somewhere that you can get a switched live from the electric screen disablement link.

Those listed above are better options. I have tapped into the tail lights for my fuse block but you want something up at the front end.
