Electrical accessories

Iím looking to fit a dash cam to an AE that requires to be connected to the ignition. Is there a port to connect such an accessory without breaking into the tail light wiring ? Thnx

Barnowl,

Most fuses in the FJR are switched ON by the ignition key. You can use a Fuse Tap to get voltage, which can either run your gadget, or energize a relay to use battery power directly, but switched by the key. Any auto parts store will have Fuse Taps, just match the size you buy to the fuses in the FJR.

You do know about the switched power port inside the glove box don't you? It's supplied by a 3 amp fuse.

Yes, but I donít want the cable running through the lid or having to drill holes into it. But it is an option. Thnx.

There is a water drain hole at the bottom of the glove box, take the wire out through there.
