Cracks in Rear Subframe

I'm looking at used FJR's. Can a problem with this be seen by removing the rear seat or must something else be removed? I've searched unsuccessfully for this information and have not found the answer. If it's already posted, I apologize.
Thanks in advance.

I should have said, going to be looking at used FJR's because I haven't found one near me yet. A guy in Ohio has a 2012 I like but it has a top case with a back pad mounted on it. He refuses to even consider this might be an actual problem, guess he thinks I'm lying to try and get the price down. I just want to know what has to be removed to see if there is a problem in this area.
Thanks

Removal of the rear seat on all model years should readily show any subframe cracks.

Thanks, that's what I needed to know. The bike I'm interested in is over 400 miles away.

Super G is correct and one would think the seller would be willing remove the rear seat and provide you with a photo of that area.

Yea, that's what I was thinking but he wouldn't even entertain the idea this could be a potential problem. When I asked what happens if I make the trip to see the bike then find a crack he replied, "I'll keep it".
I told him to google FJR Rear subframe cracks. I have no idea if he has or not but I've heard nothing else from him. Could be a bad sign.

Even if he doesn't think it's an issue he could send some photos to an interested buyer if he is serious about selling to ease their concern.

Did he send you any photoís ? If he has a top box with a givi sr357 rack or the similar Shad tube rack or the heavy aluminum Yamaha rear rack itís probably not a problem (still need to check) but the Shad tube rack or the Yamaha aluminum rack are relatively new pieceís, the givi rack hs been out for a while. Some pictures of the top box and itís mount should be easy to determine what it is.

Just the Yamaha top case mounted on whatever it came with from the factory and nothing extra. From what I've read, there's a good chance is damaged.

I've found a clean one owner 09 with 12K miles which has never seen a top case and I believe it's coming home with me tomorrow. Think I'll let the guy in Ohio keep his a while.
