Like Rerose I use my air compressor and blow around the End which expands the grips just enough to just slide them on, easy-peasy.

Also like N4 above I seem to wear out the lh grip long before the rh, my current lh grip has a hole worn in it and I used the air pressure thing to rotate The hole to the bottom where I don’t feel it. Gonna order a new set here shortly. I like my grip puppies, the foam helps with the vibration to my old arthritic hands but the larger diameter is a lot more comfy for longer rides, not everyone’s cup-o-tea but they work for me.

I gave up the idea of the gel grips on the throttle grip once they arrived yesterday, I have heated grips and didn’t want to mess with them.

I’ve gone with cable ties/ tie wraps over the top of the existing grips.
I’ve made a short row of them which have their heads just under my 1st and second fingers midway along the fingers, then a short row that have their heads at the base/heal of my hand, then another short row to engage the 3rd and 4th fingers.

The heads and cut ends can be very sharp and ‘edgy’ so I have a mini hand held grinder and used that to smooth off the cut ends and take off the sharp corners of the heads.

It’ll take a few miles to see if it’s a success and I’ll report back.

I use Grab On grip covers which fit over existing and heated grips. I use the 5" grips covers for 1.5" - 1.65" OD. They recommend spraying hairspray inside the grip covers to slide them on. The hairspray lubricates the inside to help them slide on, and when it dries it helps hold them in place to some extent.
