2008 FJR Check Oil Pressure Procedure

Hello guys!
A newbie to the FJR world here!
Wondering about the procedure of checking oil pressure after an oil change, and wondering how many of you actually do that at every oil change.
It is described at page 3-25 in the Service Manual.
Just picked up a 2008 model and would like to do an oil change sooner rather than later.
Please advise.

Don't know what it is, but I've never done it, over ~75k miles on 3 FJRs.

I agree with Dave, as I have close to 90k on my current '13 FJR and never checked oil pressure per S/M. Neither on my '07 FJR. Oil light goes off, it's got plenty of pressure in my brain.

Suggest changing the oil and filter and fill with proper amount of engine oil. Right at 4.25 quarts.
and DO NOT torque the drain bolt to the 31 ft/lb as the manual indicates. That has to be a lingering error and would hate for one to have to replace an oil pan.

As it's new to you, also suggest changing the rear drive shaft oil along with brake and clutch fluid change.

Just a note that (to my surprise) I believe the oil light on the FJR is an oil *level* light rather than pressure indication. Seems crazy but... Maybe someone else can confirm.

You are quite correct, but consider this. On engines that do have an oil pressure light, when or if it does come on, it's not telling you that you have lost oil pressure, it's telling you that your engine is now fukt.

An oil level light is much more likely to give you a timely and useful warning.

Very doubtful the oil pump will wear out ever...... Worked on a lot of FJR's we've never done a pressure check nor had reason to.
