2014 FJR Final Drive Oil Leak

Hey everyone, my 2014 FJR suddenly started leaking final drive oil out the weep hole on the swing arm, and the inner rear wheel covered with oil. I've searched a bit and can't find too many topics on this. Wondering if anyone has experienced this issue and knows which seal has likely gone bad. TIA!

Maybe it was overfilled the last change and you ran it a little hard.....coming out the weephole is not an indicator of a failed seal.

More likely an overfill and blowing out the vent. You may see a drip or two at the weep hole, as Ignaciob says, not an indicator of a failed seal. Seal at the middle drive can weep too, and possible for an oil drip or two make it all the way back there, but not that likely either.
Put down a piece of paper on the floor and tell us how much accumulation you get.

I'm going to trust you and believe that you are capable of determining where a leak is. A seal replacement may be in order. I've done mine, it's the input shaft seal of the final drive. It was annoying getting out but a breeze going back in.

Hey guys thanks for the replies on this. Not an overfill situation, no oil anywhere near the vent cap, only at the swing arm weep hole. Pulled the final drive and the oil is seeping by the bearing retainer. After i cleaned it up and went for a 10 minute drive and let it sit, i'd say about half a teaspoon of oil had leaked out in about 30 minutes. So it looks like you need a special Yamaha tool to get that retainer out i read it has left hand threads. Don't usually have to visit the dealer, but i'll let them tackle this. Thanks
