I bought an 06 FJR last year and sold it just a few months later because I found the fueling absolutely infuriating. Smooth shifting was elusive at best, and Ivan didn’t have his Gen II tune available at that time. All other fixes such as throttle tubes and fuel controllers are just masks that don’t address the real issue. I later bought a new Concours 14 and had Ivan flash that ECU shortly after 1000 miles. All I can say is wow! What difference. That bike feels like a real 1400 now, plus it runs cooler and gets better mileage. With that said, I’m still not happy with my transition to fuel injected bikes. I still think there’s too much engine braking in my C14 tune. It requires razor sharp throttle inputs to reward with smooth operation. I feel as though I’ve needed to re-learn how to shift that bike the same way Ivan would. I miss my ZZR1200.

CDA, That used to be my favorite place but then that was in the 70s.
All I’ll say James is that just because there’s snow on the roof (some have more roof than others !) doesn’t mean that there’s not a fire in the furnace !

I’m 10yrs younger than you but can say that all the years of abusing myself is coming home. I’m just glad to wake up on the right side of the dirt anymore to enjoy my family !

I did get to put about 75mi on my 76 Wing yesterday running errands & a chiro appointment, and we did a party for my youngest g-daughter graduating from the 8th grade, it was a great day ! While the wing is a blast to ride and it is the fastest color red, it ain’t the effortless acceleration of my fastest color red 14 fjr, but it was great to go for a ride in spite of the extreme heat & humidity. Great day

It all makes me now wanna get my 81 cbx (the rainmaker !) out and go for a ride, incredible sound outta that one, might have to take the Shad 50ltopbox off the fjr to improve the top heaviness some. As I reread all this I realize that I have a problem, may need a 12 step program,,, it appears that I’m a bike addict !

CDA? It's clearly not CA california or CA canada. Google says Copper Development Association. That doesn't fit the context though.

Ridden wet. Put up hard.

Been through there a few times over the years. Don't think I stopped for an overnight. Seems like a nice place. Bet it's cold in the winter though (the main reason I don't live in "Big Sky Country").

Got some new neighbors recently moved here from CDA seems there is a heavy influx of people moving in from CA and they just couldn't take it anymore. I've long thought that the only thing wrong with Oregon is that it shares a border with that state of mind called CA. I'm too old to move or I would but I don't know where I would go and I get tired just thinking about it.

Yep Coeur D Alene, and yes many from CA. I don't know where they all are working. We are heading to Florence ,Oregon this week. Maybe we will find the next best place.
