The point is all they have to do is host the maps and the last software update (even if it was 10 years ago). Cost of server space is so low, why not? Put a liability disclaimer up there. No risk to them then
From a branding standpoint, if you have customers with a couple of bikes, their other bike(s) might benefit from another one of their other fuel mapping modules. Good to be the go-to vendor and that can mean doing thing for your customers. Had a VP two companies back that always focused us on the customers and what have we done for them lately. Navy was one our biggest customers because some of their assets run the waters for decades.
I'll call them and ask if they have any old CDs. Old laptop died with their loading software on it. We'll see.
