LED Brake Lights

Has anyone been able to find a direct LED replacement for the stock incandescent brake light bulbs? That is, a replacement that is the same or brighter than the original and has a discernible difference in brightness between tail light illumination and brake light illumination. A lot of what I've found is either not as bright as the original bulbs or they are brighter but you can barely see a difference when the brakes are applied.

Search under my name, I've been using Sylvania Zevo's with no issues. On my 15 they don't cause any hiccups with ABS, cruise, or TC and are as bright as the incandescents they replaced.

In the video the stock bulbs are on the left.

Thanks for the fast response! Excellent video and exactly what I was looking for!

It appears that you found a decent LED equivalent. It really shows the instant on of the LED and the tail and brake light intensities are very similar to stock. I'm going to have to give them a try.

I had the same requirements as you. Lots of aftermarket LED's I've seen don't perform as well as stock.

The Zevo's seem to be the best I've tried, but the difference is really not that much.

Garage
Because the current draw is so much less than the regular bulbs, if you ran all LED's everywhere, you will have enough current leftover to run a microwave mounted to your back seat for your favorite hot pockets while your riding!! (just be sure to run that microwave from the socket in the glovebox) LOLOL

Thanks for the info on the ZEVO tail lights. I wrote the numbers down where I keep my bike in the garage, so when I replace, they will be the ones, Thanks.

Another way to increase brightness is to have more things light up. You can replace the rear reflector with one of these.

I just replaced the square reflector with a pair of "Skene P3", for additional visibility, they are awesome and super bright, had people riding behind me at night complaining about "eye pain" and "seeing white dots when they look away" ;-P

Instead of replacing the OEM bulbs, I installed HyperLights. Very visible and you can place them where you think best instead of hiding them behind an OEM lens.

Have you replaced the rear turn signal lights with LED too? Also curious why you chose red LED bulbs to use behind a red lens rather than a white LED.
